PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Dorothy Day is “the most significant, interesting, and influential person in the history of American Catholicism,” according to eminent Catholic historian David J. O’Brien. Pope Francis placed Day alongside Lincoln, King, and Merton as an exemplary figure for Americans when he addressed Congress in 2015. Day was given the title “The Servant of God”, and is currently a candidate for sainthood. Day credited Peter Maurin with being the real founder of the Catholic Worker movement. In over 200 houses of hospitality and farm communes worldwide, heirs to this holy pair’s blessed vocation are at prayer and work in bold efforts to incarnate the social teachings of the church. In this retreat, participants will explore the history and lived faith of the movement as an invitation to embody these same social teachings in our time and place as they did in theirs.
REGISTRATION BEGINS @ 8:30am
PROGRAM: 9:15am - 4:00pm
LUNCH and MASS included in the program
SUGGESTED DONATION: $45 per person
